The Housecleaning Angels
(Preparing your home for the holidays)
Altar Devotion: "Angels bless this house,
from site to stay, from beam to wall,
from end to end, from attic to basement, from foundation to summit."
I kid you not, angels will help you clean your house both physically and
psychically. As the
holidays approach we all face the task of cleaning and preparing for company.
Rather than waking
up in the morning and saying "I think I am going to clean today," plan ahead to
do your
housecleaning. Watch the weather reports and pick a day when the sun will be
shining. Before
you go to bed the night before, drink some chamomille tea. Make a list of what
you want to get
done, and prepare your angels cleaning supplies: 8 oz. of spring water, 1/4 oz.
isopropyl alcohol,
herbs and oils.
Angelic Blessing Water: Frankincense and Myrrh, call upon Gabriel to
bless the water
Angelic Purification Water: Lilac and pine, then call on Gabriel and
Michael
Angelic Peace Water: Jasmine and lavender, call on Ilgal, the Angel of
affection
who works for human harmony
Make several or all of these waters above and buy some clove oil. Choose an
incense that appeals
to you. Purchase one white taper or votive candle and place in a cup for each
room of the house.
Then treat at least one room "Angel pretty" - something holiday special that
will remind you that
the Angels are with you all season long.
On Angel cleaning day, begin your morning with an altar devotion. Light your
white altar candles
and ask your Angels to help you clean today, keep you from getting overly tired,
and bless your
house. Now clean each room physically, then open the windows to imagine the
Angels of air are
coming into the room and cleaning out all the negativity. Close the windows and
sprinkle your
pre-prepared water around the room in a clockwise direction. Ask the Angels of
water to cleanse
and bless the room. Next, light the incense asking the Angel of fire to cleanse
and bless the room.
Carry the candle around the room in a clockwise direction. Finally, take a pinch
of salt and sprinkle
it around the room in a clockwise direction, asking the Angels of earth to
cleanse and bless the room.
The last task is to seal all the doors and windows. Dip your finger in a little
clove oil and draw a
pentagram above and below each window and door. Ask the Angel of Spirit to guard
and protect
your home from all negativity.
At noon, do another altar devotion thanking all the Angels for all you have
accomplished so far,
and for their continued strength while you clean.
At sunset, repeat the altar devotion, plan an easy dinner or go out and eat.
Your home is now
cleansed and protected and ready for all your guests, expected and unexpected.
Happy Holidays and Blessings,
Walt & Carole
